We have caught the travel bug. Or rather, the we'd-like-to-spend-money-on-experiences-instead-of-stuff bug. And we'd better get on it soon, because as Jan's dad once said, "Tomorrow's coming and I'm not getting any younger." We just held a family caucus and compiled a list of places we'd like to visit:
-Disneyworld (I can't help it, I just have to go)
-Yellowstone (in the winter; we like snow)
-Boston & Cape Cod
-New England (in the fall)
-Redwood National Forest
-Hawaii (but not Honolulu; we want somewhere that's not so tourist-y)
-The Oregon Coast (again & again & again)
Neither of us have been too far from home, so if you would like to add your two cents about not-to-be-missed destinations, we would be glad :)

I vote for the Grand Canyon, it is so awesome in every way; you can hike down, ride horses or mules down and take a raft or just fly through it via helicopter or plane. There are other fantastic places near there too, like Zion and Bryce Canyon. Really unbelievable sights.

All good places. Of the places you mentioned (and that I have been) if I was you I would go(in order)
New England(specifically the Berkshires- amazing trip back in time) When we were there it poured rain and even snowed one day and we both still really loved the time spent there. We are planning on going back there this fall. It's supposed to be jaw droppingly beautiful.
Yellowstone, specifically staying in west yellowstone. They don't plow the streets, and people get around on snowmobiles. VERY cool.(Winter wonderland is the cheesy but only way to describe it)
Maui(Loved the laid back feeling there. May be biased because it was our honeymoon spot)
The Oregon Coast(love it every time we go. Stay at least one night at the cannery pier hotel in Astoria)
Redwood forest(neat for sure, but it's very similar to here, just much bigger trees) the Nor Cal coast is a nice drive though.
Never been to Cape Cod, but heard that it's pretty cool.
Disneyworld would be dead last. If I want crowds, long lines and 10 dollar hotdogs, I'll go to Seattle ;)
Okay, Hilary! I will tell you this now...if you want someone to go to Disneyworld with you and NO ONE in your family is willing...just give me a call. I'll go with you. I think it would be rather fun! :)
As far as other places, grand canyon IS very awesome. It just takes your breath away! Another place is Glacier National Park. Especially the road that (I think!) is called the Going-to-the-Sun road.
