Fiddle-dee-dee

Today while Jan Michael was hard at work, bringing home the bacon, I dilly-dallied away the morning hours, trying on dresses and taking pictures of waterfalls.

Then, this afternoon, we had a date at the pet store, in which we laughed at the antics of the white mice, had a discussion with the parakeets, and inspected the fish.

And now, after so much activity, I am taking myself upstairs for a nap.

One more :)

We dance because as of this evening, we have finished paying off every red cent of our school loans. Farewell, United States Department of Education! You will not hear from us again!

P.S. I love the twinkle in Jan Michael's eyes. It makes me smile :)

Hilary is sick :(

Hil is sick, she'll be back to her normal self in a couple of days. I offered to take her picture for posterity, but she decided that it was for the best that I didn't take it.

In which Jan Michael has a close call

As I indicated earlier, Jan Michael is quite sick. He had a terrible cold several months ago, and now he has another, and I think he's had his fair share, don't you? Anyhoo, he hasn't been sleeping well, and last night was no exception. I wasn't sleeping either, and so, even though it was 3:00 in the morning, we decided to get up. We were sitting at our computers, twiddling our thumbs, when he began to feel very sick to his poor stomach. He went into the laundry room/bathroom, and all of a sudden there was an enormous crash, and I went running, and what did I find? Jan Michael, who had PASSED OUT, lying on his back between the washing machine and the wall. I very urgently said his name, and after a few seconds he opened his eyes, looked very bewildered and asked where he was. It was scary. Very, very scary. He's alright, and it hasn't happened since, but my goodness. I will be thrilled to pieces if we never have to experience that nonsense again. Also, I've decided that I'll no longer feel badly about the laundry room almost always resembling a landfill, because I think the laundry basket and miscellaneous junk that was on the floor cushioned his fall and kept him from bashing his head.

Woe is us.

Jan Michael is ill, and I have four blemishes on my face. Please feel sorry for us.

Company for us!

On Saturday Troy and Beth traveled over hill and dale, all the way out to the boondocks, to spend the evening with us. In addition to their own delightful company, they brought two charming boys and a very fun game. They were even gracious enough to pronounce my smashed cauliflower (an alternative to mashed potatoes, because we're so concerned with being healthy around here) edible. We had such fun we're insisting they come back. Soon!
I'm never able to resist a handsome baby :)
The Slinky flies!
Joe had a grand time climbing and bouncing all over the couch cushions. I tried it myself while everyone else was downstairs and understand why he liked it so well :)
50 different colors and the longest eyelashes ever
"Hey, there's a rainbow on my hand!"
We're such fans of board games, and this was a good one!
Happy, beautiful family :) We're thankful you came!
