Gatorland

One of our very favorite things about our entire trip to Florida was Gatorland. A little while before we left, I read a review describing it as one of the tackiest places in the whole state. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It is an amazing, amazing park. We have some fun videos of our adventures there, which Jan will post as soon as I'm finished sharing all of the pictures.

This is Johnny, and he wrestles alligators.

Here's Johnny again. He also feeds whole chickens to very large, very hungry alligators. Look at the size of that thing's head, for goodness sake!

This is Noah the boa constrictor, and Jan Michael loved him.

Holding him was one of the bravest things I have ever done. I mean it.

This is a mama gator who was guarding her nest. She was not pleased to have us hover around with our camera, so we took only a few pictures instead of our customary 500.

Maybe, just maybe, this will be our Christmas card picture.

I found this post to be quite disturbing. I have to go now and cleanse my mind of the images I just saw. Snakes. Yuck.

;p

I know!! I still get the willies whenever I look at them! I can't BELIEVE I let a myself get so close to the head of a snake :)

Actually snakes are quite useful, they eat mice and rats!
I think they are beautiful. But i don't think i would like to meet one of the big ones in a natural setting!
I like the photos.

I think they're beautiful, too, and to be able to feel his sheer power for myself was quite a thing - but I'm still afraid :)

Man, you are brave! A kitten only lasted 10 days in our home before I had to send it back to the adoption people. It creeped me out! (That is not a joke!)

So glad it was you and not me! Not going to happen! But the pictures are testimony of what you will do for your husband. Good for you!!!

Jan was actually the one that went to Gatorland for me! As soon as I read that we could sit on an alligator, I was hooked!
