We love Florida!

We love it so much that we didn't want to come home, and we've decided to become professional vacation-takers. We both feel like we couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our first 10 years of married life - what a special treat to be able to go on adventures & experience new things with each other. I don't think even the 1000 pictures we took will express the fun we had, but we'll give it a try :)

So, first things first: We were thrilled to pieces with our accomodations for the week. The resort we stayed at is actually a time-share property and not usually open to non-members, but since September is part of their off-season, they made the villas available to regular people like ourselves. Our condo had two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with an enormous bathtub, every girl's dream!), a full kitchen, a washer & dryer (which meant we came home with hardly any clothes to wash!) & a little screened-in sun-room. We were very near to a grocery store & dozens of restaurants, and all of the theme parks were just a stone's throw away. It was quite lovely to come back after a busy day of playing and feel so at home. Parkway International Resort, you will see us again!

Somehow the Tickle Fiend followed me across the country...

Things to do on a rainy Saturday

1. Feel thankful to be warm & snug & dry in our cozy, little house

2. Feel even more thankful to share it with the person who makes me laugh & laugh all the live long day

3. Bake cookies

4. Eat toasted ham & cheese sandwiches

5. Do a bunch of sit-ups, mostly because of #s 3 & 4

6. Take a nap

7. Pack for Florida!

A hiking we will go

We've had the nicest weather this month, perfect for roaming around outside, and Jan Michael knew of a fun little hike to a waterfall, so off we went.

Nephew and brother love

We had the biggest of treats on Saturday night - spending a few spectacular hours with Brent & Derek & Caleb. We played outside, we played inside (Hide & SNEAK, according to Derek), we colored, we read, and some of us got in some very spirited wrestling. There was even time at the end for a picture with all the boys, although Caleb was not particularly pleased with this idea, nor was he a willing participant.

This one makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. Something about his wild eyes, I suppose :)

Showers all around

Yesterday was Tessa's baby shower, a very sweet affair. Only six more weeks until the arrival of baby H!
Jan thought it was only fitting for the dad-to-be to have a shower, too, so he arranged for a day of golfing and games and basketball. I'm glad the men were able to spend so much time together - I have a feeling that once November rolls around, we won't be seeing an awful lot of the Eric/Tessa contingent :)

Of all the nerve.

I love the fall. It would take ages and ages to list all of the things that make it one of my favorite times of year. BUT. I do not like the huge influx of enormous spiders that mistakenly identify our house as a spider hotel during the autumn months. We do not invite them, and still they come, waltzing around, bold as brass. As Sara would say - INAPPRPORIATE.
