Today begins the Great House Paint of 2008. When all is said and done, our house will be a lovely shade of 'Software Gray' with white trim, instead of the current slate blue which has faded to such a degree that we can see the previous color underneath (which we suspect was pink). Because it took us approximately one-and-a-half weeks to paint our small bathroom, and because I was in a towering temper the entire time, we decided it would be far better to hire someone rather than do it ourselves. We've hired a very nice bunch of college kids, who are outside right now scraping and priming, while we sit inside drinking tea and blowing our noses and feeling sorry for ourselves because we have summer colds.

Good-bye, blue house!
